Pink & Silver Flower Mix Queen
This quilt includes satin and cloth patterns. The star is made up of different golden satin cutouts, blue, pink, silver satin, and red satin. The edging patten is a unique floral pattern with a pink line holding that to the white backside.
Since the buffalo went near extinct in the late 1800's, the Lakota people adopted the art of quilt making and the lone star quilt served as a replacement for painted buffalo robes. The Lakota use the star quilt as a symbol of honor and recognition.
Today star quilts are used for recognizing and honoring individual accomplishments such as traditional ceremonies, graduations, birthdays, weddings, as give away gifts and as gifts of special importance.
