Chokecherry Tea - locally harvested and prepared by Geraldine Goes In Center
Sapa Canpa Wahpe
Chokecherry was one of the most important plant used by our Lakota Ancestors. Chokecherries contain high levels of vitamins, antioxidants, and polyphones that reduce the potential for cancer and heart disease. The Amygdaline content in the crushed seeds stimulate respiration, improve digestion, help reduce blood pressure and arthritic pain and give a sense of well being. This tea is blended with the bark and leaves, as well as the dried berry and seed.
