Blue and Red Cartoon Pattern Star Quilt
Nancy Reddest hand made this star quilt which features cartoon pattern print with red and blue material. It measures 48 7/8"x 48" and would be perfect for a child.
Since the buffalo went near extinct in the late 1800's, The Lakota people adopted the art of quilt making and this served as a replacement for Buffalo robes. The Lakota use the star quilt as a symbol of honor and recognition in which a star quilt is given to someone for the accomplishments they have achieved.
Today, Star quilts are used for numerous reasons such as naming ceremonies, graduations, achievement recognition and as gifts to others. Small star quilts are given to children to thank them for honoring us with their lives and to symbolize their still strong connection to the stars.
