Bitter Root-"Siŋkpȟé Tȟawóte"
(directly translated as “muskrat food”)
The Lakota used the root for fevers, sore throats, coughs, and stomach problems. Another use is that of a poultice made of the crushed root & can be used by rubbing on the body to relieve muscle cramps.
How to use:
1 – chew it in small pieces
2 – cut in small pieces and sip in tea
3 – burning the root & inhaling the smoke
